A wise man once said that "all men are equal". Sadly not everyone listened so far, as still a lot of people suffer under social exclusion, even within Europe. Thus we need to rise our hands and stop ignoring the obvious injustice in order to make the dream of an even Europe come true.

Social InclusionWhat is social inclusion anyway?

The term social inclusion means the integration of disabled people, immigrants and ethnic minorities in our society. This means setting aside all of our prejudices and starting to treat everyone equal. It shouldn't matter where you come from from, how you look or what you believe in. Social inclusion means giving everyone the same chance, without any exception. Every single human being on this planet deserves the same rights.

During our daily life it's easy to just forget our fellow men, to forget that there are people still being discriminated, even in our very own homelands. A lot of people simply ignore disabled people, immigrants and ethnic minorities or even worse, they discriminate them. Europe needs to become more empathic, we need to understand how bad it hurts to be excluded.

What can we do?

Don't tolerate discrimination or social exclusion in any way! Not in your school, the bus, at your office or your circle of friends. A single person can't change anything? Far from it! It's like with elections - you might think your single voice doesn't have any effect, but in fact it has. Stop treating people by their origin, complexion, faith or handicap.

What we shouldn't do!

Don't treat anyone special just because he isn't integrated into the society yet. Social inclusion doesn't mean to make friends with someone just because of the fact that one is disabled, an immigrant or part of an ethnic minority.
